Test Your Fitness Level

These tests are designed to quickly evaluate your general fitness level at the present time. Try taking the tests before you begin an exercise program and then again after you've been exercising for awhile to monitor your progress.

The tests below measure four separate areas of fitness ability. Follow the directions for each test as closely as possible, and be sure to allow plenty of time for rest between each test.

  1. Step test to measure aerobic endurance
  2. Push ups to test upper body strength
  3. Squats to measure lower body strength
  4. Sit ups to test core (abdominal and back) strength
